December 3rd 2009 - Dr. Jerry Case shot a first round 74 at the 2009 Troon Cup in Scottsdale, Arizona.  This marked the first time that Jerry had accomplished the golfing milestone of shooting a score equal to his age.  The round, played on the Pinnacle Course at Troon North, included a birdie, four bogeys, and thirteen pars.  Case's spectacular play led Fieldstone's team that included Rand Mendez, Dave Heaney, and professional Jim Larkin.  Jerry's play carried the team to a nine under par round and sixth position after day one of Troon Golf's annual pro-am.   The twenty team field teed off for the second and final round on Troon North's Monument course and the Fieldstone team caught fire.  Fieldstone's foursome combined for eight birdies and their fourteen under par total was the second best round of the day, in the one best ball gross plus one best ball net format.  Their two day total of twenty three under par yielded fourth place honors for team Fieldstone.

October 18th 2009 -
The top performer's from Fieldstone's Men's golfing calendar took to the links on Sunday, October 18th to determine who would take home $750  in the winner take all Tour Championship.  Ten of the season's top fifteen money winners took to the back nine and teed off in the sudden death style format.  The pressure packed format eliminated one player per hole over the first six holes.  The elite field included the past two winners ,defending champion Bert Hahn, and 2007 champion Steve Dellose.  As the players finished the fifteenth hole the field was narrowed to four players.   The final four inlcuded Bert Hahn (2008 Tour Champion), Rand Mendez (2009 Founder's Cup Champion),  Jerry Case( 2009 Play with the Pro Champion/ 2009 Member -Member Champion), and Bob Winter (2009 Member -Member Champion).  The last men standing were looking to finish their season in style and collect the richest prize in amateur golf.  The foursome played a net aggregate format over the final three holes to determine the champion.  The players played steady golf on holes sixteen and seventeen and as they reached the final tee three players ( Mendez, Winter, and Case) were deadlocked at even par, with the defending champion two shots back.  Bob Winter got up and down from the front bunker when he drained a 30 foot birdie bomb on the 18th.  His dramatic putt eliminated Case and Hahn and left six time club champion Rand Mendez with a seven foot birdie attempt to force extra holes.  Mendez's putt found the center of the hole and both player's headed back to the eighteenth tee for a sudden death showdown.  Both players found the fairway off the tee but found trouble as they approached the green.  Mendez's chances were broken in Lisa's heart and Winter smartly took the conservative route into the cup for the win.  The 2009 Champion ended the year as the leading money winner and number one ranked player in the Fieldstone's Performance Rankings.

Congratulations on a great year Bob!

Member Member Champs Bob Winter and Jerry Case Member Member Champs Bob Winter and Jerry Case
May 16th 2009 -
The team of Dr. Jerry Case and Bob Winter continued their domination of any and all four ball events at Fieldstone in this weekend's Member-Member Championship.  The two time defending Tradition Cup Champions took their flight and joined five other flight winners on the fourteenth tee to battle for the top prize in a sudden death shoot-out style playoff.  The champs were pushed to the brink of elimination on holes sixteen and seventeen but ultimately survived chip offs on each hole due to the short game wizardry of Jerry Case.  As the Case / Winter duo reached the eighteenth tee box only the team of Al Ulozas and Doug Briggs stood between them and the title.  Bob Winter set the tone off the tee box with a prodigious 280 yard blast that left him 220 yards to the green.  The champs cruised to victory with a net aggregate ten on the final hole, besting the Ulozas- Briggs tandem and further cementing their position as the most dominant men's team at Fieldstone Golf Club.
